Current Events: Carrie Prejean's photos non-issue

Carrie Prejean's "nude" photos should not in any way disqualify her from speaking out against same-sex marriage. If celebrity blogger Perez Hilton has a voice in favor of it, it pretty much opens the door for anyone to speak their mind on the subject regardless of their past mistakes. I mean, who the heck is Perez Hilton anyway and what makes him qualified to be a judge for Miss America?

Sure the photos aren't great for Prejean, and perhaps she'll lose her crown as Miss California because of them, but it certainly doesn't rob her of her right to share her personal views and beliefs, and to even champion them, to those that might ride the fence or flat out disagree with her conservative slant.

In this day and age of Facebook, MySpace and every Tom, Dick and Harry shooting amateur photos and videos with their cell phone, I believe it will become increasingly more difficult for anyone to stand up to the scrutiny of the media.

Unless, of course, they support same-sex marriage.

  1. I very much dislike Perez Hilton. I think he's rude and arrogant. I was also curious who chose him and why they thought he was a qualified judge.
